Previous Employment
- McGourthy previously served as Executive Director of the Worcester Regional Research Bureau, Inc., a position he held since February 2014. McGourthy focused on economic development for the City of Worcester from 2006 to 2014, serving as Chief Development Officer for the City, as well as Chief Executive Officer of the Worcester Redevelopment Authority, where he oversaw nine City divisions related to business development, culture, housing, neighborhoods, planning, workforce development, and youth. He worked closely with public and private partners to facilitate transformative redevelopment projects for Worcester. From 1999-2006, McGourthy served as Director of Policy at the Boston Redevelopment Authority, Boston’s planning and economic development agency, where he crafted policies and programmatic solutions to a broad range of issues impacting the growth and development of the city.
