• Job Description Direct actions of the Commission to provide for the investigation and remediation of instances of abuse of adults with disabilities in the Commonwealth; Oversee the administration and finance, intake, investigation, oversight, legal and preventative functions of the agency by directing managers and senior staff of the agency; Develop, implement and monitor agency policies, procedures, regulations, programs and outreach materials in consultation with Commissioners, and in compliance with the Massachusetts General Law (MGL) c. 19C for use in carrying out DPPC’s mandate to protect persons with disabilities; Draft, identify and pursue legislation in consultation with the Commissioners and provide written and oral testimony in support or opposition of the legislation; Compile, analyze and present data regarding civil and criminal investigations of victims with disabilities; Publicize M.G.L. c. 19C, its requirements and educate others on preventing, recognizing and effectively responding to abuse of persons with disabilities through public speaking opportunities internally, nationally, statewide and locally via conferences, trainings, media relations, and related activities; Seek additional funding through support from the Division of Fiscal Affairs, Administration and Finance, Senate Ways and Means, House Ways and Means and grant opportunities; Represent DPPC internationally, nationally, locally, at meetings, conferences, workshops, trainings, and other public events; Oversee the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the DPPC to ensure crimes committed against persons with disabilities are appropriately referred to the District Attorney and/or local police for assignment of the criminal investigation; and Develop and complete agency strategic plan, quarterly and annual reports and oversees the data collection and completion of monthly statistical reports.
